Wolfe WF chosen to take part in the World Championships of the Hunter riders in Maryland !

Wolfe WF and his rider Ryan Pedigo have been picked to take part in the World Championships in Maryland. Wolfe was bred by Windswept Farm and was purchased in 2008 by Cindy Busby who trains at Kennedy Farms with Ron Kennedy and Ryan Pedigo in Los Angelos. Wolfe has had only but an amazing journey, he has been a champion all around and we wish him and his "team" great success at the Championships !

Our two-Year Old Colt" Flashdance" selected for 2012 Hanoverian Keuring

“Flashdance” a two year old liver chestnut colt by Floriscount from SPS Rosina by Rubin Royal – Lemon Park – Weltmeyer – Bolero, has been selected from 560 German candidates for the 2012 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing, which will be held in Verden from October 25 to 27.

The damline of Flashdance includes 5 generations of SPS mares, and is the same line that produced the exciting young stallion “Spoerken”, a son of Sir Donnerhall. Spoercken’s dam, La Beaule Isoud, was also bred by Bill Mulholland and is out of the same Weltmeyer grand dam and the Bolero great grand dam as young Flashdance. Flashdance has 2 full younger sisters, of similar quality, the youngest of whom was 2012 Champion Foal at this year’s big Freiburg Foal Show.

2012 Annual Ahs Inspection at Windswept Farm II

Almost forgot to post some news about our annual Inspection this year, it has been a busy season !
All WSF mares presented for the Inspection of 3 year old and older mares scored 7 and higher, the class was won by WSF'Ss Latika, a 3 year old mare by Londonderry - EM Musetta ( Merlin - World Cup IV - Bolero ). Also presented were Quintara, Serafina and Walentyna, all owned by WSF, all eligible for Elite mare status pending of MPT results in the the future. We had a very nice group of 10 foals for Inspection and all received very good comments, the winner of the day were in the colt group "Bazinga" by Balue du Rouet out of EM Samantha ( Sam Steele - Feiner Stern - Trapper ) and for the fillies the champion was "Blue Bayou" also by Balue du Rouet out of EM Marcellina ( Merlin - Feiner Stern - Trapper ). And our 5 year old Wendy Lady by Wellesley - EM Mathilda successfully completed her MPT.

Daedalus, bred by Windswept Farm and owned by Gail Tittley had great success at a recent Gold Show. He was the First Level Champion ridden by Ali Kraushaar, he had two wins and a second place with scores in the high 60's to 76 %. According to his owner he received great comments from the judges. Thank you for doing such a great job with Daedalus !

Our 4 year old mare Her Highness by Hochadel-Weltmeyer-Bolero placed 3rd in the group of 4 - 6 year old mares and is an Elite Mare Candidate or as they say in german "eine Staatspraemienanwaerterin".

We are delighted by this beautiful filly and her quality from day one ! First Lady's dam SPS Rosina is the daughter of SPS Lili and the full sister to Rhapsodie, who are part of our canadian breeding program.

In 2008, Kelly Parsons bought Campari (previously known as Dalwhinnie) at the Windswept Farm Auction. He is currently being trained and competed by Tom Dvorak in dressage. This winter, this spectacular little horse has been competing in Palm Beach, Florida and has been winning at First Level with scores in the high 70s!! Wolfe WF -- Zone Champion and Ranked 9th in US in 3'3" Hunters

Wolfe WF, bred by Windswept Farm, is now owned by Cindy Busby, and trained by Ryan Pedigo of Chino Hills, California. In September, the Blenheim Fall Tournament was designated as the Zone Finals Horse Show and Wolfe was both Show Champion and Zone Finals Champion in the Performance Working Hunter 3’3" division. Currently, Wolfe is in first place in Zone 10, in the division, and ninth place in the nation in the USEF rankings with respect to 2011 year-end honours.

Montego Bay SOLD

Congratulations to Sharon Angell of Rochester, New York on the purchase of Montego Bay, a 2 year old filly by Merlin - EM Wellgunde. Montego Bay will be joining her full sister Madame Butterfly ( owned by Sharon's sister Cheryl Ruscoe ) in Rochester next May after getting started under saddle at our Farm.
Thanks to Amy Hughes for finding these two horses for her clients. About 8 Windswept Farm horses have been bought by Amy's clients over the years and under her expierenced guidence they have become successful Show Hunters.

Schedule for the Day: Freejumping will take place from 11:00am—Noon. Followed by riding horses shown in the outdoor ring, presentations of the young horses and mares/foals will occur from noon to 3.30 in the indoor arena. This schedule will be flexible to adjust for weather conditions and attendance.

Madame Butterfly (by Merlin, out of Wellgunde --World Cup IV) was sold 3 years ago to owner Cheryl Ruscoe in Syracuse, New York. In the past 2 years, under the training of Amy Hughes, "Maddie" has won over 10 CHAMPION/RESERVES at A-rated horse shows in the Rochester, Buffalo and upstate New York area. Currently, she is showing in the Pre-Green Hunter and Adult divsions.

American Hanoverian Society

Windswept Farm hosted the annual AHS mare and foal inspection on August 18th. The judges for this inspection were Vanessa Carlson from the AHS and Mr. Konrad Both from the German Hannoveraner Verband. Also representing the AHS was Hugh Bellis-Jones.

We started the day with the inspection of hanoverian and non-hanoverian mares. Windswept Farms Wrascellina by Wellesley and out of EM Mathilda ( Merlin - Feiner Stern ) was the highest scoring mare in the hanoverian group. She got great reviews from the German judge Konrad Both. Second place in this class went to Sylphide by Sam Steele - SPS Lili ( Lemon Park - Weltmeyer ) also owned by Windswept Farm. The non hanoverian class was won by Spring Feather ( Wekiva Springs Feather Necklace - Waquoit ) owned by Deborah Barker. Fifteen mares and foals were presented in the foal inspection and the filly champion was the chestnut filly Wyanetta by Wellesley out of EM Marcellina ( Merlin - Feiner Stern ) and the colt champion of the day was the dark bay colt Wycliffe by Wellesley out of EM Michaela ( Merlin - Feiner Stern ). Mr. Both complimented us on the overall quality of the Windswept Farm foals. I was not present to hear the comments he made about the visiting foals.

I would like to point out that all three Hanoverian Champions of the day were grandchildren of EM Frederika. Their dams were all daughters of Merlin and Frederika and they were all by Wellesley on the sire's side. EM Frederika just passed away recently at the age of 23!

Overall it was a good day for everybody and the weather was beautiful and we had a good amount of spectators attend.

RIP EM Frederika born 1988, imported from Germany as a yearling, Feiner Stern - Trapper, beautiful mare and beautiful mover gave birth to 14 Foals for Windswept Farm and is the grandma of so many we can't count them all at the moment, 5 of her daughter are still in our breeding program
( Mathilda, Mercedes, Michaela, Marcellina and Samantha all Elite Mares ) and her last two daughters, yearling filly Winniefred and two year old Frederika II will become part of the Kennedy Farms breeding program in California. Bye, bye Freddy and thank you for all you have done for Windswept farm !

2011 Foals

Seven of our 2001 Foals at Windswept Farm have been born and we are thrilled with the result, they are all lovely types with correct conformation, long legs and beautiful faces, we will start adding photos very soon. Most foals will be available for sale so please feel free to inquire.

So far we have a colt by 'Escudo I,' a filly by 'Earl,' a colt by 'Wolkensong' (photo shown) a colt by Merlin, and two fillies and one colt by Wellesley.

Daedalus placing 3rd at first horse show !

Daedalus and his rider Maya Marcowsky from Chatterbox Stables scored 71 % at Training level and placed 3rd on June 4th, 2011 at the Palgrave Dressage show. This is Daedalus first outing ! He was bred by Elke Mulholland and sold to Gail Tittley last Fall. Great Job !

Whimsey competing at Prix. ST George level

We received great news from Terri Cooper, the owner of the Windswept Farm bred EMC Whimsey by World Cup IV out of EM Esplanade.
Whimsey competed in her first Prix ST George Class at the ESDTCA Championships at the NJ Horse park, allowing her to qualify for the regional championships.
Whimsey was sold about six years ago, she is a fullsister to our stallion Wellesley and numerous other FEI level dressage horses like EM Wladina, EMC Whenonah and Wolsey. We wish Terri and Whimsey lots of success and we are very greatful for all the good work that is put into horses we bred by their new owners !

Pan Am Games

We are happy to announce that El Cid and Ute Busse have declared for the Pan Am Games. El Cid was bred by Windswept Farm, he is by Evergreen and out of EM Mondaena ( Matcho - Diskus ). He was bought by Pat Scherrer as a 3 year old and has been in Training with Ute Busse ever since. We wish El Cid, Pat und Ute good luck and hope they will qualify.

Windswept Farn is open to the public from 10.00 AM - 4.00 PM. During this you can view the stallions, our horses in training and Mares with foals in our three barns.

We are planning to show off our Mares and foals in the arena where you can sit and watch.

AHS Inspection 2010

We will start app. at 9.00 AM with the Free jumping portion of the MPT, followed by the Mare Inspection, MPT under saddle and the foal inspection. We are expecting about 18 Mares and Foals !
Visitors are very welcomed.

Windswept's youngest already sold

Winnifred (bay filly by Wellesley - EM Frederika) our youngest foal, just born one month ago is already sold and will join many other Windswept Farm horses in California when she is old enough to travel !

Whenonah did it again, she was the Advanced Champion at the Caledon Dressage show this weekend,"qualityreplica.biz" winning the PSG and placing 2nd in the Inter I. Congratulations to her owner Carla Bahr and her rider and trainer David Marcus !

Wintersong WF by Wellesley out the Elitemare Flowesong ( Faberge - Evergreen ) was the Champion in the 1.35m devision at the last Palgrave show with her rider and owner Alexya Solomon. Congratulations !

EM Whenonah by World Cup IV - EM Esplanade, bred by Windswept Farm and owned by Carla Bahr of Halton Hills had a very successful weekend placing 2nd in the PSG and 1st in the Intermediare I with 70 % ridden by David Marcus. Congratulations to Carla Bahr and David Marcus for doing such a great job.

Flashdance scoring high !

Our little star in Germany did it again, he was one of the highest scoring foals at a foal show held at his home in Germany, the Meyers farm in Allwoerden. Out of nearly 50 foals 5 scored a perfect 9.0 and Flashdance was one of them, despite the heat neither he or his dam SPS Rosina lost their spark and showed of what they got. About 4 weeks ago Flashdance participated in a Foal presentation at his sires home farm " Gut Fuechteln" were he managed to be one of the top scoring foals.
