Windswept Farm
is
a private horse breeding farm devoted to the breeding of Hanoverian
sport
horses with breeding programs carried on both in Canada and in
Germany.
Our simple goal...
Windswept Farm's objective is the breeding of sport
horses
of consistently high quality. Our
aim is to breed for a well-rounded, athletic horse of correct
conformation, refined
appearance
and superior rideability.
Made in Canada...
Horses offered for sale by Windswept Farm are the
offspring
of our own mare herd unless otherwise noted. We do not purchase
horses
for the purpose of resale. However, we breed our mares to outside
stallions
as well as to our own.
Experienced
breeders...
Our four licensed Hanoverian stallions,
have been owned by Windswept Farm since birth, on the mare side we have
fifteen broodmares, most of which have been designated
either
State Premium or Elite Mares; all but four of these mares, were bred by
Windswept Farm. All of our mares are members of one of six mare
families
stemming from six foundation mares purchased in Germany.
YouTube and
beyond...
In the interest of modernizing our relationship
with the equestrian
community at large we are in the process of developing the
necessary
technical capabilities to produce and present video material to
interested parties via the internet.
At present that will manifest itself on "You Tube" where you will be
able to view videos as quickly as we can produce them.
Currently it is not a significant offering and is more representative
of a test environment, but it will grow in the near term to better
reflect the value we have built into our herd over the last two decades.
On the subject of
future videos...
Spring has finally arrived and the grass has greened up
significantly which also spells the demise of those shaggy coats that
have served our herd through the long and cold Canadian winter.
On that note we will now have a renewed oppourtunity for presenting our
horses in a more flattering form.
Making your journey
to the farm...
We are located about 45 miles west northwest of
downtown
Toronto, 35 minutes from Pearson International Airport and 90 minutes
by
car from the US -Canadian border at Lewiston, NY. (see
map)
